Kadhai Paneer
I don’t think this post needs any introduction, isn’t it? Most of us like this simple paneer dish and it is an excellent accompaniment with rice or rotis. Perfect to impress your guests and stylish to present in any lunch or dinner event.
Ingredients:
- Paneer 200 gm
- Onion 2 medium
- Tomatoes 2 medium
- Ginger 1 inch piece
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Green chilli 1-2
- Cashew 4-5
- Capsicum 1 medium
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Kashimiri red chilli powder 1-2 tsp
- Coriander powder 2 tsp
- Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cream 1 tbsp
- Coriander leaves 2 sprigs
- Kasoori methi crushed 1 tsp
- Refined oil 2 tbsp
Method:
- Slice the onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger roughly. Cut the paneer into big cubes and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and saute the onions, cashew, ginger and garlic for 5-7 minutes. Add the chopped tomatoes and saute for few more minutes.
- Remove it from the stove and allow it to cool. Now grind it in a mixer till you get a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in another kadhai and splutter the cumin seeds. Now add the ground masala, green chillies and stir for few minutes.
- Add the dry spices and cook over low flame till the raw smell of all the masala goes off. Add the cubed capsicum pieces and stir fry them.
- Add some water and salt and bring it to a boil. Toss in the paneer cubes and mix gently. Add the fresh cream and mix.
- Garnish with powdered kasoori methi leaves and finely chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve it warm with rotis or rice.
