Vanilla-Choco Cookies
One of my earliest bakes was chocolate cookies. You can have infinitely many variations of choco cookies. You can play around with the choco dough and create magic in your kitchen. And I am sure your kids are going to love it. Just try these at home. Happy baking.
Ingredients:
- Maida 125 gm
- Cornflour 1 tbsp
- Baking soda 1/4 tsp
- Baking powder 1/4 tsp
- Powdered sugar 75 gm
- Salt a pinch
- Vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
- Cocoa powder 1 -2 tsp
- Butter 100 gm
Method:
- Sieve maida, salt, baking powder and baking soda 2-3 times till everything is combined well.
- Cream butter and sugar till it is soft and creamy using a hand whisk or an electric beater.
- Mix the maida mixture into the creamy butter and combine to form a dough.
- If the dough is too dry, add 1 teaspoon of milk.
- Divide the dough into 2 parts. To one half, add cocoa powder and mix well.
- Keep both the dough in the refrigerator for some time.
- Shape as per your imagination, again chill them for a while.
- For the flower shaped, make small small balls with the dough and place them in the desired shape on the parchment paper. It will automatically stick to each other while baking.
- Preheat the oven at 160 degree Celsius for atleast 10 minutes.
- Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper bake at 160 degree Celsius for 10-12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and place them them on a wire rack. Cool it well before storing them in air tight containers.
Notes:
- The quantity of sugar can be increased in case you want your cookies to be sweeter.
- Icing sugar can be replaced by finely powdered sugar.
- For coffee flavour, you can add a teaspoon of instant coffee along with cocoa powder.
- Keeping parchment paper on the baking tray ensures that your cookie doesn’t spread out too much while baking.
- Also chilling the shaped cookies for 5-10 minutes retains the shape of the cookies and prevents it from becoming flat.
- You can add white or dark choco chips or some nuts for an additional crunch.
Hello maam
On which mode do u keep ur cookies to bake,I bake on both rode on & on the middle rack
For cookies bottom rod is ok but then it depends on ur oven. Follow what works in your oven. I don’t have an option to select rod settings. I bake everything in same settings.
