Coconut Chutney-3
One of the oldest and staple food of people in Kerala is kanji (rice porridge). This coconut chutney is one of the best accompaniment with kanji along with cooked green grams and pappadam.
Ingredients:
- Grated fresh coconut 1/2 cup
- Red chillies 4-5
- Salt to taste
- Ginger 1/2 inch piece
- Tamarind small amla sized
- Curry leaves 2 sprigs
- Shallots 2-3
Method:
- Roast the red chillies over the gas flame till its a bit smoky.
- Grind all the ingredients in a mixer till its a coarse paste. Please do not add water while grinding.
- Make it into a nice smooth ball.
- Enjoy it with hot steaming rice kanji or porridge.
