Cheesy Dip
I am a jugaad kind of person. So I make things with stuffs easily available in my kitchen pantry. No hard and fast rule about the type of cheese to be used. The final result was a smooth n yummy cheesy dip. And as long as my hubby and Neha are satisfied with what I make, I am happy. This was a trial at making cheesy dip as an accompaniment with home made baked nachos. It turned out to be quite smooth and creamy and cheesy too.
Ingredients:
- Butter 1 tsp
- Maida/apf 1 tsp
- Salt a pinch
- Fresh Cream 2 tbsp
- Milk 2 tbsp
- Cheese slice 1
- Mozzarella cheese 1 tbsp
- Chilly flakes 1/4 tsp (optional)
- Parsley sprigs (optional)
Method:
- Heat butter in a pan and add the flour to it and stir well making sure it doesnt brown.
- When the raw smell of the flour goes off, add the cream and milk. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Add the cheese and mix well till the cheese melts and you get a smooth lumpfree and homogeneous mixture.
- Add salt and other seasonings as required. If there are lumps, pulse it in a mixer or hand blender and blend for a minute or so.
Notes:
- This dip goes very well with nachos or garlic bread.
- For a more creamy and rich texture, you can add more cheese. You can add a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar cheese too.
- For a garlic flavour, one can add finely chopped garlic or garlic powder.
- Its usually served as an accompaniment with Nachos
