Whole wheat Nutella cookies
First of all a very Happy New year 2020 to all my readers and followers. December has been quite stressful for us as a family. I lost my father in law on December 13 and we all have been going through a tough time the whole of December. I haven’t been able to update my blog since a long time. So, when my sister and family decided to visit us two days back, I quickly jumped to bake a cookie. Moreover, I had
a big jar of Nutella with me and have been waiting to finish it off sometime soon. If you look at my blog, you can find recipes of Nutella coffee cookies and Nutella rosette cookies. You all might like to try this Nutella swirl bread too 🙂
These are quite simple up make and yummy too 🙂 If you likr your cookies very sweet, increase the amount of sugar by a tablespoon or two. Store it in good airtight containers and it will last for around two weeks (if you don’t finish it off before that 🙂 ).
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat flour 200 gm
- Salt a pinch
- Cane sugar 50-60 gm
- Nutella 100 gm
- Butter 50 gm
- Milk 1-2 tbsp
- Chocolate/vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
Method:
- Sieve the flour and salt for 2-3 times. If desired you may add a pinch of baking powder and baking soda.
- Take a big mixing bowl and add the Nutella, sugar and butter to it. Please use butter at room temperature.
- Beat it with a spatula or whisk till it’s soft and creamy.
- Add the extract and mix well.
- Slowly add the dry flour mixture and mix.
- If the dough appears very dry, sprinkle some milk slowly.
- Refrigerate the mixture for atleast half an hour.
- Meanwhile line a baking sheet with parchment paper and keep it ready.
- Take small lemon size balls, flatten it on your palm and place them on the tray leaving some space between two adjacent cookies.
- Preheat the oven at around 150-160 degree Celsius for atleast ten minutes.
- Bake the cookies for 20-22 minutes or till the top looks a bit firm.
- Remove the tray from the oven and allow the cookies to cool in the tray for 4-5 minutes.
- Transfer onto a cooling rack and cool completely.
- Store in airtight containers and enjoy.
Happy New Year. It is always a pleasure to receive your recipe post. Can we use brown sugar instead of cane sugar.Plz advise
