Gobi Manchurian
Love Manchurian? Here is a simple non fried version of Gobi Manchurian. It goes well with fried rice or hakka noodles.
Ingredients:
- Cauliflower 1 medium
- Salt to taste
- Sugar a pinch
- Onion 1
- Capsicum 1
- Garlic cloves 3-4
- Ginger 1 inch piece
- Ginger-garlic paste 2 tsp
- Spring onion greens 2-3 tbsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Pepper powder 1 tsp
- Soya sauce 1 tbsp
- Tomato sauce 2 tbsp
- Cornflour 1 tsp
- Rice flour 2 tsp
- Refined oil 2 tbsp
Method:
- Cut the cauliflower into small florets and soak it in water for some time.
- Boil water in a sauce pan with little salt.
- Blanch the cauliflower florets for 3-4 minutes.
- Drain and keep aside. Add ginger garlic paste, a pinch of salt, 1.5 tsp.of soy sauce, pepper powder and chilli powder and mix well. Sprinkle some rice flour and cost it well.
- Now you can either deep fry these florets till it’s crispy or shallow fry them in a frying pan like I have done.
- Drain the oil and keep aside.
- Chop the garlic and ginger finely and cut the capsicum and onion into inch squares.
- Heat oil in a wok or kadhai and add the garlic and ginger.
- Now add the onion and capsicum pieces and stir it on high flame.
- Now add soy sauce, tomato sauce, some more chilli and pepper powder.
- Toss the cauliflower florets and mix well.
- Mix the cornflour in 2 tablespoons of water and add this slurry into the mixture.
- Bring to a boil. Add salt and a pinch of sugar.
- Garnish with spring onion greens and serve it hot with hakka noodles or fried rice.
