Cheesy Wheat Spring Onion Crackers
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour 100 gm
- Jowar/sorghum flour 25 gm
- Besan 25 gm
- Salt to taste
- Sugar 2 tsp
- Cheese slices 2
- Cold butter 1 tbsp
- Crushed pepper to taste
- Crushed cumin seeds 1-2 tsp
- Spring onion greens 2-3 tbsp
- Curd 2 tsp
Method:
- Sieve whole wheat flour, sorghum flour, besan, salt, sugar, crushed cumin pepper till everything is combined well.
- Add the mashed cheese slices and cold butter (cut into small pieces) and rub into the flour mixture till you get bread crumb like texture.
- Add the finely chopped greens and curd and gently knead into a dough using a spoon or two of water if necessary. Do not knead hard.
- Allow the dough to rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven at 160 degree Celsius for ten minutes.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and keep it ready.
- Roll the dough on a floured surface or in between 2 parchment paper and cut into desired shape.
- Prick holes with the help of a fork or toothpick.
- Arrange the crackers on the tray neatly and bake them for 12-14 minutes or till they appear golden.
- Remove from oven and let it remain in the tray for 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer on a cooling rack and allow them to cool well.
- Store in airtight containers.
Notes:
- You can use multigrain atta in place of whole wheat flour. I have used multigrain atta this time as my whole wheat flour got over 🙂 the texture is still almost same, though I felt this time it was a bit hard than with whole wheat flour. But healthy and perfect for a guilt free snack.
