White Sauce Pasta
A very simple not heavily loaded with fats, yet tasty enough to impresss your little ones 🙂 Load it with lot of veggies and make your kids happy with this easy-peasy white sauce pasta.
Ingredients:
- Pasta 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Onion 1
- Oregano 1 tsp
- Pepper powder 1 tsp
- Cheese 1 tbsp
- Parseley 1-2 sprig
- Capsicum 1/2 (optional)
- Brocolli few pieces
- Paneer cubed few pieces
- Milk 1/2 cup
- Cream 1 tbsp (optional)
- Butter 1 tbsp
- Flour 1-2 tbsp
Method:
- Cook the pasta as per the instructions on the packet or boil 1 cup pasta in a litre of water for 8-10 minutes till it is just done.
- Meanwhile slice the onion finely and cut the broccoli, capsicum and paneer into cubes.
- Heat butter on low flame in a heavy bottom sauce pan and add the onions, capsicum and broccoli to it. Saute well.
- Now add the flour and mix well. ( you can use maida or regular whole wheat flour for a healthier version ).
- Saute till the raw smell of the flour goes off. Add the milk and cook. Stir well so that no lumps are formed.
- Add the cooked pasta and sprinkle salt, pepper powder and oregano. Add some cream and cheese into it. Also add the paneer cubes and toss gently.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes:
- You can increase the amount of cheese and cream and make it more richer and creamier. I simply avoid adding more of it to reduce the calorie intake.
