Mint-Curd Dip
Whenever we have grilled food from the restaurant, Neha loves the mint dip which is served along with these grills. Its really very very simple to make this at home, that too with just few ingredients.
Ingredients:
- Mint leaves 1cup
- Green chillies 2
- Salt to taste
- Garlic 1-2 cloves (optional)
- Thick curd 1/2 cup
- Sugar a small pinch (optional)
Method:
- Grind the mint leaves with chillies and garlic into a smooth thick paste. Do not add lot of water while grinding.
- Pour the curd into a muslin cloth and hang till all the water in the curd is removed. (Dont discard this water, this is quite healthy and all the moms can drink it ).
- Add the hung curd into the mint chutney by slowly passing it through a sieve. Add salt, a small pinch of sugar and mix well.
- This goes very well with tandoori chicken and any kind of veg or nonveg barbeque or kebabs.
Notes:
Make sure that the curd is not too sour and you remove all the water from it before adding the ground mint chutney. Straining the curd through a sieve ensures that the curd is smooth without any grains or lumps in it.
