Instant Sooji/Rava Set Dosa
As I always reiterate, the biggest challenge of any home maker is to decide what to make for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And most of the time, you have no clue whatsoever. Especially, when you are under the weather, you want to cook something which is ready quickly without much hassle, using less ingredients and less utensils.
So, this is one such recipe which takes very minimal effort and tastes equally good. All you need is just around 30 minutes to start from scratch. It’s very soft scd spongy. Pair it with a chutney of your choice and your breakfast is sorted. I have used a 240 ml cup. You can use any brand of unroasted sooji/semolina irrespective of whether it is fine or coarse.
Ingredients:
- Sooji 1 cup
- Curd 1/2-3/4 cup
- Poha/beaten rice 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- Sesame oil as required
- Idli podi/gun powder optional
Method:
- Wash the poha and soak it for 5-10 minutes.
- In a mixer jar, add the sooji, soaked poha, curd and salt. Blend it till you get a fine paste.
- Add water and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Adjust the consistency by adding water.
- Take an iron griddle or any tawa of your choice and heat it.
- Add a spoonful of batter and make a thick dosa. Drizzle oil.
- You can sprinkle some idli podi on top. Flip and cook both sides. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve it hot with any chutney of your choice.
