Soya Granules Masala
When my hubby came back from Mumbai after his school and college get together meet, he got some fresh Mumbai ladi pav. After making some Vada pav for dinner last night, I made these vegetarian Keema curry with soya granules which goes very well with these pav.
Ingredients:
- Soya granules 1 cup
- Onion 1 big
- Ginger 1 inch piece
- Garlic 2-3 cloves
- Green chilies 1-2
- Tomatoes 2
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 2 tsp
- Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Refined oil 1 tbsp
- Coriander leaves as required
- Fresh cream 1 tbsp (optional)
Method:
- Chop the onion, ginger, garlic, green chilies and tomatoes finely.
- Soak the soya granules in hot water for 10-15 minutes.
- Now drain out the water from the soaked soya granules.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds.
- When they splutter, add the chopped onion, ginger, garlic and green chillies.
- Saute till they become soft and translucent.
- Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder.
- When the raw smell of the masala goes off, add the chopped tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
- Now add the soaked soya granules and mix well.
- Add salt to taste and pour little water and bring to a boil.
- Pressure cook it for 5-8 minutes.
- Open the lid of the pressure cooker and adjust the salt. Add pepper and garam masala.
- Garnish with fresh cream and finely chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve it hot with ladi pav chopped onions and lemon wedges.
