Mumbai Sandwich
The mere mention of Mumbai sandwiches makes me feel hungry and I am sure whoever has tasted this once will surely agree with me. It is one of the most filling, healthy and cheap Mumbai street food. My family too is very fond of this and I have been thinking of adding this to my blog since long. Made my favourite semolina bread last evening and so it has to be these sandwiches for today’s breakfast. So filling, very fresh and crunchy and full of flavours.
Ingredients:
- Bread slices 8-10
- Boiled potato 2
- Onion 1
- Capsicum 1 small
- Tomato 1
- Butter 1 tbsp
- Chat masala 2 tsp
- Salt a pinch
- Pepper powder a pinch (optional)
- Green chutney as required
- Cucumber 1
- Tomato sauce as required
- Cheese slices 2-3
- Mayonnaise 1 tbsp
Method:
- Finely slice the onion, tomato, cucumber, capsicum, potato and keep them aside.
- Keep all the ingredients ready.
- Take a freshly baked bread slice (or a store bought one) and apply butter on 1 slice.
- Carefully spread the green chutney and arrange all the veggies on top. Sprinkle little chat masala and salt on top.
- Add a cheese slice or add some grated cheese on top. Apply mayonnaise and tomato sauce on another slice of bread and keep on top.
- Grill the sandwich in a sandwich maker or a tava.
- Serve hot for breakfast or pack it in your kids tiffin box or simply eat as a mid day or evening snack.
