How about a spicy-cheesy masala biscuits for your evening tea? Make it and share your feedback. It is very simple and healthy.
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat flour 125 gm
- Oats 50 gm
- Salt to taste
- Powdered sugar 1 tbsp
- Cold butter 1 tbsp
- Grated mozzarella cheese 1 -2 tbsp
- Red chilli flakes 1-2 tsp
- Oregano 2 tsp
- Parsley 1 tsp
- Baking soda a pinch
- Baking powder a pinch
Method:
- Powder the oats coarsely. Mix it with whole wheat flour, salt, sugar, red chilli flakes, oregano, parsley, baking soda and baking powder. Combine well.
- Add the cold butter and grated cheese to the flour-spice mixture and rub it well with your hands. The mixture should resemble bread crumbs.
- Add 1-2 tablespoon of milk and knead lightly to form a dough. Do not knead hard. Rest it for 5-10 minutes
- Preheat the oven at 160 degree celsius for 10-12 minutes. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and keep it ready.
- Roll a small portion of the dough on a clean counter and cut with a cookie cutter of your desired shape. Poke holes on it with a tooth pick.
- Place them neatly on the baking tray and bake for 15-18 minutes or till the cookies/biscuits are golden in colour and sides look crisp.
- Remove from the oven and cool them on a wire rack.
- Store them in air tight containers after they are fully cooled.
- Enjoy them with your morning or evening cup of tea/coffee.
Notes:
- Make sure the butter is very cold and not melted.
- Do not knead the dough too much.
- Poke some holes on the cookie to ensure uniform baking.
- Every oven behaves differently, so please check it after 14-15 minutes. If it appears to be under cooked, please bake for some more time.
- The cookies will appear soft when you remove them from the oven. But they will become crispier once they cool.
Hi Pradeepa! Please confirm if the quantity of butter is only one tablespoon as mentioned in your recipe. Thanks.
Yes. That was meant to be a healthy biscuit. So reduced butter. U can choose to add lil more

Sorry to hear this Sudha. Can you tell me how exactly it was. Maybe I can help you then. Sorry once again.
Hi 🙂 Is it the rolled oats variety or instant oats? 🙂 ..
I used quaker oats. Use whatever oats you have at home
Thank you 🙂
You r welcome
Hi Pradeepa, The dough should be soft or tight?
Not very soft. Tight like poori dough or else biscuits will get soggy.
Hi pradeepa
Congrats on ur wonderful blog… I had followed ur recipies from FB group already.. Ur stuffed buns are really awsome…
In these biscuits, can I use finely chopped coriander in place of parsley…
Thanks Prabha. Sure you can. Happy baking.
